HAUL: Boots essentials mini haul.

In the midst of my exams I had to go into town (less than one week until finish!) and get a new face scrub for my morning routine and some deodorant, I would count these as essentials because no-one likes a dirty faced and smelly woman in an exam haha.
1. Dove GoFresh Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena Scent
I have finally finished a Nivea deodorant which smells nasty but for some reason I kept on re-purchasing it. In my next empties I will reveal which one NOT to get! I have previously tried this Dove deodorant in a sample form that was given out in the Birmingham Bullring and I loved it but never went out to buy it. So now that I have finished the Nivea can I went ahead and bought this one, I have not regretted my decision because this one smells amazing! If you're stuck on which deodorant to purchase then get this is the one!

2. St Ives Apricot Scrub
This is my go to morning scrub along with Garnier Pure 3-in-1 and Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1. All three are really good wash and scrubs and really help to get rid of those tiny, bumpy blemishes. St Ives is a little bit more rougher in texture compared to the other two so be a bit more gentle when massaging it into your skin. I feel that St Ives does give a deeper clean that the Neutrogena ones but all three give a squeaky clean feel after use.

3. Maybelline Color Sensational in Coral Pearl 852

4. Maybelline Color Sensational in Magic Muave 245
I thought I would treat myself with a new lipstick and then I realised that Maybelline products was buy one get another half price so I bought two haha. I wanted one that was more neutral and another that was more pigmented. I haven't tried them yet but from the swatches on my hand I have high expectations that they will be good! I will most likely do a review for these so I hope you're looking forward to that post!
I'm practically counting down the days until my last exam! Anyone else in the same boat?

frankie says relax.

Another casual outfit during the exam period. I had to make a quick stop earlier at the Korean store to get my kimchi fix and the campus shop to get a sandwich for tomorrow. I have another exam tomorrow afternoon and my module girlies thought it would be helpful to get together tonight and share ideas over a good cuppa and biscuits. So yeah, super casual almost bordering on lazy outfit!
Topshop t-shirt, H&M leggings, Daisy Street boots, Topshop bag, Michael Kors watch
I bought some new boots from Daisy Street and they were really cheap (as in price wise lol). The quality is OK but you do get what you pay for because it's the first day wearing them and I have already worn out the heel slightly. I'm thinking of buying some inexpensive heel taps from Ebay or something to stop them from wearing?!

MANICURE CLAW: Nails Inc Concrete in London Wall.

This is the Nails Inc Concrete in London Wall that I got from the Harvey Nichols Bazaar in Liverpool. I did one coat and let it dry completely before doing a second coat. Normally I would do one coat and and another soon after but with this nail varnish the texture isn't as good looking as if you waiting a while. On the plus side it's super quick to dry.
Don't put top coat on top because it takes away all the texture turning it into a normal nail varnish. I made this mistake and had to re-do it which was a pain.
I'm not too sure on this varnish because the texture is rough and every time I touch it it makes me want to shiver. It's super cool to look at though and I do love the colour so I think I may have to find a similar colour that doesn't have the concrete texture... or I could just put top coat on it haha. I'm also wondering how hard it's going to be to take off...

Has anyone else tried Nails Inc Concrete collection? What did you think of them?

happy, healthy snacking.

I'm a lover of good food but I'm also a sucker for snacking in between meals. I went to Holland and Barrett yesterday to see if they had any good offers going on in store and to my surprise they did! Great timing! I thought I'd top up my vitamin stash (just vitamin C and selenium tablets) but actually left with some healthier snacks to my usual chocolate purchases from the supermarket. It is crazy how fresh fruit is much, much more expensive than that chocolate offers. It makes eating healthy and trying to save money, especially when being a student, a lot more difficult. Anyway, I absolutely love fruit and vegetables and I actually prefer vegetables to meat (people think I'm crazy especially my dad!). I bought a lot of fruit from Sainsburys too but I got some dried fruit snacks from Holland and Barrett to try and replace my sugary snacks and they help give that 'sweet' like texture.
left to right: diced papaya, banana chips, Jaapanese rice crackers, green tea and lemongrass teabags, dried mango slices, fruit and nut breakfast mix, yogurt coated raisins, all Neal's Yard Wholefoods.

A majority of their foods are having a promotion where it's buy one get one half price. So you save money when you buy two packs. It's even better that you don't have to get two of the same thing but you can actually mix and match. All the foods that I got were in this promotion, yippeee! I actually ended up saving £11 altogether, which I think is pretty good. The breakfast mix is going to be used as a porridge topper for my breakfast. Also be wary that not all their snacks are that healthy, for example the Japanese rice crackers, so eat in moderation.

For my vitamins (I forgot to take a photo of them and now I'm too lazy to do so) they have a "penny sale" going on which is basically buy-one-get-one-free but instead it's buy one and get one for 1p. It's a bit strange as buy-one-get-one-free would be so much easier lol. I didn't know this until I walked up to the till and had to do that awkward thing where I go to get another pack but left everyone in the line standing there waiting for me to come back!
I also bought a box of green tea and lemon grass. I have been trying to cut down on my green tea addiction because too much is not too good, but I really liked the sound of this so I wanted to try it. I had my first cup this afternoon and it smells like the hot towels that airplanes and posh hotels give out?! The taste is very nice though, very mild and fragrant! I'm going to have to go back and try some of the other teas that they have, there was actually quite a lot to choose from.

Eat healthy, exercise and smile everyone!

REVIEW: REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask.

This mask you can use 2-3 times a week... well I do anyway. I've thrown away the outer packaging so I can't confirm this lol. You apply a generous amount and leave it on until the clay dries and that's when you can remove it by rubbing it off. This is usually about 10-15 minutes but I like to leave it on for a little longer.
I love applying this after a hard day and it makes my skin super super soft and gets rid of the rubbish on my skin and decongests it. As it dries, it cracks and you can see all the imperfections on my skin like all my giant pores etc (I think you can see it happening on the last picture on the area around my nose). It was a horror to see! It's all worth it at the end though because my skin improves every time I use it. I think it may have reduced the size of my pores. I have also noticed that my blackheads aren't as visible anymore after continual use.
One thing I'm not really a fan of is the smell, it's OK after a while but at first it smells like Sudocrem?!
I really love this product and think I will be repurchasing it! Have you guys tried this? What did you think?

Sorry that there haven't been many outfit of the day or even interesting posts recently but I've been so busy revising for my exams. I assure you that I will work on them as soon as possible!
Also thank you very much beautiful readers for helping me reach 100+ followers on GFC!!

EMPTIES: April 2013.

I didn't have any empty products in March so I have just skipped onto April's empties! (:

1. Sephora Soothing Primer
I ran out of my Lancome LA Base primer and I had heard of good things from this Sephora primer so when I was in Barcelona (...last year!) I purchased it to give it a try. It has taken me ages to use it up but that's probably because I started using it religiously but then towards the end I've been testing out other products so I forgot all about it but recently I just wanted to get rid of it. It's actually really similar to the Lancome primer so I was super impressed. It's also cheaper than the Lancome one but remember that it's also a smaller bottle.
I wish the UK would bring back Sephora stores, I can see it being popular again particularly if they offered a points system to rival Boots. (I'm mad about my Boots points hehe)

2. Vichy Purifying Foaming Water Radiance Revealer
I think this cleanser is really good for sensitive skin because of the foam texture but for me it didn't give me a good enough clean. I liked it but not loved it so I won't be re-purchasing.

3. Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
This product is perfect for blemish prone skin, I have a lot of small blemishes on my forehead and this, along with a really good exfoliating scrub, really helps them. I'd apply a generous layer before going to sleep and I would wake up with improved and smoother skin. After finishing this I haven't re-purchased it but instead bought Origins super spot remover which I think does the same job but better. However I think this Vichy product is cheaper and you get more for your money.

4. Atrixo Enriched Moisturising Cream
I love this moisturiser because it makes me hand super soft. It doesn't leave a greasy formula and your hands feel soft even after washing. However, it does smell like baby products and like talcum powder, I quite like that smell but if you don't then I don't recommend this product for you.
